SA Outdoor Academy received its accreditation as a service provider with the Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA) - Reg no: 613/P/00432/2022.
This is the SA government sector that allows their accredited service providers to train and assess prospective guides for the Generic Adventure Site Guide (GASG) qualification which is the only qualification recognised by the SA Dept. of Tourism to register candidates as Adventure Guides.
As registered guides, we can legally take paying clients out on adventure activities such as hiking, abseiling, rock climbing and canyoning or kloofing. The SA Outdoor Academy GASG program is accompanied by a Mountain Walking Guide (Limited Scope), other skills such as abseiling, rock climbing, canyoning can be added later.
